General
What is Hade?
Hade is a ride-sharing app that matches drivers and riders heading the same way in North Cyprus. Type where you're going, see your cost share before you ride, travel with a verified driver and pay the driver in cash at the end.
When does the app launch?
Hade is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. We start with an invite-only closed beta; the date and the invites go to the waitlist first.
Where will Hade work?
Everywhere in North Cyprus: Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, Güzelyurt, İskele, Lefke and every village in between. Ride within a town or between towns; pickup and drop-off must both be in North Cyprus.
What hours does Hade run?
24/7, day and night. There are no time limits — request a ride home late at night or to campus early in the morning. Matching depends on the drivers online nearby at that moment.
Who drives with Hade?
People driving their own car whose application and documents have been reviewed by the Hade team. Drivers decide when to go online and which requests to accept.
Which languages does the app support?
Turkish and English. The app follows your phone's language, and this website is in both.
Riders
How is the cost share calculated?
The app calculates a cost share based on distance; you see it before you request and it doesn't change on the way. No haggling. For example, a 4.6 km ride within Nicosia is 180 TL.
How do I pay?
You pay the cost share to the driver in cash at the end of the ride; exact change helps. The app never asks for card details. If a driver asks for a different amount, don't pay and tell us.
What if no driver is found?
Your request goes to nearby drivers first, then to a wider area. If nobody accepts, you pay nothing; try again or choose to be notified when a driver comes online nearby.
Does cancelling cost anything?
No. Cancelling is completely free for the first 2 minutes after a driver accepts. Later cancellations are recorded; if they happen often within 30 days your account may be restricted for a while.
Can I ride with friends?
Yes. Choose how many of you there are when you request (up to 4 riders); the driver sees it before accepting.
What's in it for students?
Verify your university email and a student badge appears on your profile; drivers see it on the request card. Hade is built for campus, dorm and between-town trips.
I left something in the car. What do I do?
Go to My rides → pick the ride → "I left something". We let your driver know, and you can call them for 24 hours.
Drivers
Who can drive with Hade?
Anyone aged 21 or over with a B licence held for at least 2 years, driving a 4-door car no older than 15 years with valid compulsory traffic insurance. If the car isn't yours, you need a signed permission letter from its owner.
How do I apply?
You apply in the app in about 10 minutes: personal details, car and documents (ID, licence, registration, insurance, 4 car photos, a selfie). Join the driver waitlist before launch and you'll be first to get the invite to apply.
How long does the review take?
If your documents are complete, we aim to get back to you within 48 hours. Our team checks every document; before approval we have a short introductory call. If something is missing, you only re-upload that document.
Who decides when I drive and whom I pick up?
You do. When you go online, nearby requests come to you; each one shows the pickup distance, destination, cost share and the rider's rating, and you accept or decline within 20 seconds. Declining has no penalty.
How do I receive the cost share?
The rider pays you in cash at the end of the ride and you confirm with "Cash received" in the app. If a rider doesn't pay, you report it in the app and our team looks into it.
Who sees my documents?
Only the Hade review team. Riders only see your first name and last initial, photo, rating, car and plate.
Safety
Is Hade safe?
Drivers go through ID, licence and registration checks, and everyone uses their real name and a profile photo. Before you get in you see the driver's photo, car and plate; you can share your ride live with someone you trust, and the safety shield on the map lets you alert Hade or call 155 and 112. More on the Safety page.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call Police 155 or Emergency 112 first. Tap the safety shield on the ride screen and choose "Report to Hade" to alert Hade as well; from the screen that opens you can send a ready-made message to your emergency contacts. The Hade support line is not an emergency service.
How do ratings work?
At the end of each ride, rider and driver rate each other from 1 to 5 stars. Individual ratings are never shown to the other side; the average appears after 5 ratings. You can also choose never to be matched with someone again from the rating screen.
